Late 71 Hazzard Flasher Knob

Post by Apollo15 »

Early 71 Corvettes (Vin.# 9000 and below) are said to have chrome emergency hazard flasher knobs on steering column. Late 71 Corvettes (Vin.9000 plus) are said to have black flasher knobs. I have a late 71 build with a black knob but it is plastic. Some experts say that this know should be black pot metal, not plastic. Is there someone out there with a late 71 that has a black pot metal flasher knob who can confirm this? Thanks!

Tell us about your Corvette: 1971 Coupe that's been in the family since new. Was "stored" in a shed in New England for 22 years. Even though I have limited knowledge and experience, I'm SLOWLY doing a body off restoration. Standby for many questions!
Location: Spokane, WA

I have a 1971 Survivor which has a NCRS National TOP FLIGHT, it has never been restored and was built the last day of production - VIN 21783 - it missed ZERO points for the BLACK PLASTIC knob.
