Late 71 Hazzard Flasher Knob

Early 71 Corvettes (Vin.# 9000 and below) are said to have chrome emergency hazard flasher knobs on steering column. Late 71 Corvettes (Vin.9000 plus) are said to have black flasher knobs. I have a late 71 build with a black knob but it is plastic. Some experts say that this know should be black pot metal, not plastic. Is there someone out there with a late 71 that has a black pot metal flasher knob who can confirm this? Thanks!
