General Forum Rules

Post by MaineVette » Oct 16th, 2009 9:06 pm

This forum's goal is to remain family, work, and corporate server safe. In order to keep the forum running smoothly and to prevent problems, please follow these simple rules. If you have any questions or problems, please feel free to contact the site administrator or a moderator.

General Rules
  • While debating and discussion is fine, we will not tolerate rudeness, insulting posts, personal attacks or purposeless inflammatory posts.
  • We reserve the right to remove offensive posts without notice.
  • Please refrain from posting meaningless threads, one word (or short) non-sense posts.
  • Advertising, spamming and trolling is not allowed. This includes using the forum, email, and private message systems to spam other members.
  • Please wait a reasonable amount of time (~6 hours) before bumping posts.
  • Posts or links to sites that are provocative or sexual in nature are not permitted.
  • Kill stories and postings with photos of fatal accidents are not permitted.
  • Each member is allowed one login account. Registering with multiple accounts is not allowed and will lead to termination of all related user accounts.
  • Vulgar, foul, or explicit language is not permitted in any form.
  • Multiple or repeated posting in order to increase your post count is not allowed.
Advertising Services and Solicitation
We do not allow people to post threads or to send private messages or emails to users here that advertise or solicit any products, services, funds or donations. Explicit advertising and solicitating in signatures is also prohibited. Forum members are welcome to sell a Corvette or Corvette parts they purchased for their own personal use. Anything else is considered to be a commercial sale.

Member Conflicts
Any thread(s) that contain open bickering, name calling, subtle derogatory messages, "digs," personal attacks, or anything negative in nature will be closed/edited or deleted, and any participating members who post in violation of this rule, will jeopardize their posting privileges.

If any member is being harassed online in a thread or privately via PM, they should avoid a confrontation with the offending member and immediately report the problem to the Administrator by clicking on the "report post," icon under the offending users user name. The Moderator will evaluate the issue and take appropriate action to rectify the situation.

Signature Size Limits
All signatures should not exceed the following limits to minimize the need for scrolling and to maintain fast forum load times:
  • Text in signatures is limited to 4 lines of normal size text or 8 lines of small size text (blank lines count as lines). Large size text is not allowed in signatures.
  • Images in signatures are limited in size to 300 pixels wide and 125 pixels tall. Two photos are allowed per signature with each photo being less than 20kb in size. Animated images in a signature are not allowed
Off Topic Forum
The Off Topic forum is where Corvette Owners can gather to chat about almost anything, technical or non-technical in nature. If you have a question that doesn't fit into any other forum, or just want to chat, this is the place.

Although the administrators and moderators this forum will attempt to keep all objectionable messages off this forum, it is impossible for us to review all messages. All messages express the views of the author, and the owner of this forum will be held responsible for the content of any message.

Comments and Suggestions
If you have suggestions for the improvement of the Forum or questions or criticism of the Forum or its moderation, you are welcome to PM or e-mail a moderator or the administrator. However, do not use an open thread for such messages. The work on the Forum's volunteer moderators is difficult enough without having folks calling them out in open threads.

While these rules cover most common situations, they cannot anticipate everything. Consequently we reserve the right to take any actions we deem appropriate to ensure these forums are not disrupted or abused. The site administrator and moderation team shall be the sole arbitrators of what does and what does not violate community standards. We also reserve the right to ban anyone who wilfully violates the forum rules, as access to these forums are a privilege and not a right.

Your use of this forum constitues agreement with these rules and conditions. By agreeing to these rules you warrant that you will not post any messages that are obscene, vulgar, sexually-oriented, hateful, threatening, or otherwise violative of any laws.

The owner of this forum reserves the right to remove, edit, move or close any thread for any reason.
Someday I'll finally be able to drive my Vette, but for now I'll just admire all the pieces... :willy:
