Re: '65 Coupe Resto-Mod and '68 Full Custom Restoration

All the parts I destroyed on my previous attempt have arrived and I am getting up the guts to try it again! :ack: I did do a somewhat trial run with the vent window in place and used one of my old windows as I did not want to scratch the new ones, even thought they are protected. Murphy's law will s...

Re: '65 Coupe Resto-Mod and '68 Full Custom Restoration

Well, my first attempt to install the door glass was an udder failure. :bang: No matter what I tried, I could not get the glass into the front and rear felt liners. Wound up destroying the top/rear felt, and had to order a new one. A single felt liner goes all the way across the top of the window, d...

Holly Crap Batman, that is one awesome cradle! Sell the plans on eBay! You didn't do wrong by having a pro do some of the work. I've been doing that on both cars. I remind myself, that I might be able to do it as save some money, but there always seems to be enough money to have it done over...

Re: '65 Coupe Resto-Mod and '68 Full Custom Restoration

I called Kerry at Jamison's to ask him about the window glass install. I told him I had to order the glass from Corvette Central and it may be undersized, and I was concerned about the tape that holds the glass to the window bracket. He said he rarely has any trouble with Corvette Central's glass, a...

Re: '65 Coupe Resto-Mod and '68 Full Custom Restoration

Had a big surprise Saturday afternoon. Opened the front door to take the wife out to brunch and this big box was there. Being confused, as I didn't expect anything, I looked at the address and it was for me, but I didn't recognize the sender. I took it into the house and opened the top...

I've gained a real appreciation for how many little parts and pieces go into a car like this.
And the smaller they are, the more they seem to cost!

Re: '65 Coupe Resto-Mod and '68 Full Custom Restoration

Spent most of yesterday cleaning the 2001 Vette for the Mustang vs Corvette car show at Quaker Steak & Lube which was held today. Lots of work. :scrazy: Cleaned every microbe of the car, inside, outside and engine compartment. It looks better today than it did brand new! Not bad for 20 year...
