Tell us about your Corvette: 1971 Coupe that's been in the family since new. Was "stored" in a shed in New England for22 years. Even though I have limited knowledge and experience, I'm doing a body off restoration. Standby for many questions!

Hydraulic Ram Lift - How Big?

Post by nwav8tor » May 30th, 2010 11:56 pm

Still outfitting my garage for the upcoming restoration and was wondering how big of an engine lift should I get.

Will a 1 ton unit be adequate? It is rated at 1 ton if the extendable arm is fully retracted, but reduces to 3/4, 1/2 and 1/4 ton as the arm is extended out...

How much does a '71 coupe body weigh?

What about a 350/270 engine?

A 4-speed tranny?

Thanks for the help,
Paul

P.S. Happy Memorial Day
