Hi all,

Father/son 74 project build team. Street/strip; street engine: 383 stroker, 483hp/502tq built by son(James); race engine: 400 supercharged, not dynoed yet, estimating 1000hp +, built by James. Project started when James' was 16yo, he just turned 18 and now is attending UNOH for high performance. Time for dad(Jack) to get the work on the body and start to make it look like corvette again, so I will be asking a lot of body question. Thanks for all help in advance.

Howdy, and welcome to the forum. 1000+ HP - yikes! Not to shabby for a motor built by a teenager. I'll be interested to hear/see how you get all of that power down to the ground! :willy:

Unfortunately I'm not able to see the photos you've posted. Can anyone else see them? Looks like I'll have to do a bit of digging to figure out why they aren't showing up for me.

Welcome!

Both engines are probably too much for me ;-0

I just want to be able to someday cruise in mine once again!

...couldn't see the photos either.

Hi Paul, welcome to the forum. Two or three of our Corvette Club members are from Kentucky. They are here all winter and most of the spring and fall. They are all definitely in Kentucky around Derby time every year!

I can't see the photos either.

1000 hp ... Holy crap Batman!! Is the 1K hp engine for the strip only? Sounds like an awesome power plant, but I seem to share the views of the others, where, other than on the strip, are you going to use all those ponies? A number of members in out Vette Club have Z06's and some supercharged ZR-1's, and while the power is nice, most roads are either to crowded or in not the best of condition to use the hp. How are the roads where you are at. Bet it feels awesome though ejecting from 0-100 in a micro-second. Does it run on pumped gas?

My '65 and '68 are both under resto's right now. '65 is drive-able and going in for paint in about 2-3 weeks. The '65 has a 1970 version 350/370 LT-1 built to about 390 hp, but at 10.3:1 compression, it also runs on pumped gas. With the 5 speed trans, it will snap your neck in first and second, and it can still cruise really nice on the highway at only 2200 rpm in fifth gear. My '68 is getting a really awesome looking 454, but it is a show car and the inside is almost pure stock. Also probably around 400 hp, but again, 9.5:1 compression.

Can't wait to see photos once you find out why they did not load. Again, welcome to the forum.

Hi Jack,

I've tried working out why your photos aren't displaying but no luck yet. I suspect the upload feature got goofed up when I had to recover my forum this summer. I'll let you know when I get it resolved.
