Re: My '73 project

When I look at photos of the equipment everyone has in their shops or garages and hear about their experince in automechanics, I get worried that I might be attempting to bite off more than I can chew with my not-yet-started '71 restoration. Good luck with yours!

Re: Air Compressor

Some questions... 1st - Do you recommend getting a single stage compressor or one with two stages? I heard that single stages are MUCH louder than dual stages and that could be a factor in my neighborhood. 2nd - What are the pros and cons of oil lubricated compressors and the oil-less designs? Can a...

Re: '71 Coupe - Will I Ever Attempt the Restoration?

I finally got to see my "baby" last week. She's been in storage for over TWENTY years and I can hardly wait to begin the restoration! Here's a few shots of how she looked before 1980 and the ripe age of 9: http://i642.photobucket.com/albums/uu147/nwav8tor/71%20Corvette/CIMG1701.jpg http://i642.photo...

Re: Pictures of My 71 Restoration

Nice photos Dan...

The restoration looks well on its way and from these views it will be a SWEET ride once it's finished! I only wish my restoration (future) could have the benefit of a well-equipped shop like yours versus the half of my home's garage that I hope to "eek" out for my project.

Re: '71 Coupe - Will I Ever Attempt the Restoration?

Hi Tim, I'm actually back in your neck-o-the-woods over in NH visiting my mother and today I was able to get into the shed where my '71 coupe has been stored for overTWENTY years! There wasn't much light or room to maneuver, but I did manage to get the cover partially off and actually cracked ...

Re: Let's see your ride!

If it makes you feel any better I asked this same exact question (same three acronyms) about 7 or 8 years ago when I started frequenting automotive forums. LOL I've been meaning to write a list of common acronyms for the help forum but just haven't had time to do it yet. I think it would be a big h...

Re: Let's see your ride!

LOL. I know what you mean. :) SB = "small block" BB = "big block" "Vert" = convertible So it's just their code for engine displacement and body style... I had a '70 SB Vert, and it was a great machine. If I go for a third Vette, it'll be a BB Vert for sure, though... OMG, just how dumb do I feel!!!...

Re: Let's see your ride!

OK, my ignorance is showing again...

What is a "vert" as in SB vert, BB vert and 67 mustang vert?

While you're at it, what is SB and BB?

Thanks,
Paul
