They sell the threaded rivets and the installation tool at McMaster Carr. If I remember correctly, they call them "rivnuts", or something like that. I have used them in the past on equipment projects where you didn't have access to the inside of channel or tubing and needed to bolt something to it. ...

We didn't get picked to play, but we were in the studio audience. They said that if you're in the audience that they guarantee you will be on tv. We will see. The taping of the show is due to air on May 10th.

I did 3 very light coats then a little heavier wet coat. Came out real nice. Had the house full of family thus week end and going on vacation this week. Going on the Price is Right and then off to Vegas from Wed through Friday. Maybe next week end. 🙁

Well so far so good. I refinished all of the parts for my steering column and it actully turned out very good. I am changing the interior color from silver to light saddle. As you said Tim, it seems to be in the prep work. I took my time and sanded all the metal covers smooth and used self etching p...

I'm right there with you Tim. I used to live in Cleveland where it snows sidways. I moved to SoCal a little over 11 years ago. The wife and I both agree that we no longer want anything to do with cold whether or snow unless we are looking at it on a postcard. Lol!

I got the steering column torn down and cleaned up. I also got the SEM top coat along with the cleaner and "adhesion promoter",( how's that for a product name?), and I managed to spray a couple of the parts tonight. I will be out of town for a few days but will get a chance to look at the results on...

Hey Tim,
Wondering if you ever did any testing on the redye of interior pieces. I am getting close to that stage on mine and would love some feedback.
