Re: '65 Coupe Resto-Mod and '68 Full Custom Restoration

I see the ability to add photos has be fixed, great job Tim, so here are some of the photos from my trip to Charleston. As I said, he had a few cars in his shop when I went there: Outside.JPG 20181112_093024-640x480.jpg 20181112_093035-640x480.jpg 20181112_095959-640x480.jpg 20181114_082920-640x480....

That's great looking landscape though. I tried to load photos and still can't. How did you do that?

Re: 71 Sees Daylight After 21 Years!

As for the exhaust manifold, I am considering switching to headers, especially for the sound and somewhat for the performance gains, but am worried about increased heat in the cockpit. Paul I had both Hooker standard and then Hooker chrome side exhaust headers on the '68 small block and I did not h...

Re: 71 Sees Daylight After 21 Years!

I looked at the picture of the valves. There are others on here who may be able to offer a better guess but I'd say you may have a valve seal that's leaking. The valve on the right looks dry while the valve on the left appears to have a greasy buildup that, at least to my mind, is the telltale sign...

Re: '65 Coupe Resto-Mod and '68 Full Custom Restoration

Sunday I unloaded the Corvette and parked it in my front yard, where it would get the most sun exposure. It's mid to late November here and the temps are in the low to mid 70's, but sunny. Kerry Jamison said the best thing is to have the car bake in the sun to get any oils or other contaminents that...

Re: windshield trim removal

Yes, I am extremely familiar with removing the trim on the '65 Corvette. I have taken mine on and off it several times now. It is sort of difficult to explain without the ability to load photos. A big question though, do you have a coupe or a convertible, they are very different. Mine is a coupe. Th...

Re: '65 Coupe Resto-Mod and '68 Full Custom Restoration

That was the last of the rain. Home at last. I really don't think my truck likes visiting Charleston. It always gets there fine, probably because it doesn't know it is going there until it gets there. But going home ... :bang: The last time I trailered my '68 Corvette to Charleston, the transmission...

Re: '65 Coupe Resto-Mod and '68 Full Custom Restoration

It's Thursday AM, and it is pouring down rain outside my hotel window. Weather reports are it will stop soon and the front will have passed us with clear weather all the way to Florida. Yesterday, they completed spraying 3 coats of black epoxy primer-sealer on the car and the hood. It has had all ni...

Re: '65 Coupe Resto-Mod and '68 Full Custom Restoration

Another day in Charleston. Got a LOT done on the car today. Got the car into a sanding booth and we went over the entire car with 120 grit sandpaper. It looked far better to me after the whole car was sanded, but both John and Kerry (John's son and shop manager) identified a number of places that ne...

Re: '65 Coupe Resto-Mod and '68 Full Custom Restoration

Well, here is the good, the bad and the ugly. The Good ... I made it to Charleston without difficulty, except for a heated argument I had with my GPS. I wanted to go one way and it wanted me to go a different way. After a while, I won the argument, but it paid me back. I went to Charleston the way I...
