Re: New Member 71 LT1 survivor

Wow, that is a nice one. When I was living in Charleston SC back in the 70's, I blew up my 1968 327 at a Corvette Club event with our club (Corvette Charleston) the Charlotte Corvette Club autocrossing on Charlotte Motor Speedway in 1973, I bought the same engine you have. I was able to get the 350/...

Re: '65 Coupe Resto-Mod and '68 Full Custom Restoration

I received a call from the metal polishing shop this afternoon saying the parts were ready to be picked up. I went and got them and to say they looked great was an understatement. They looked far, far better than brand new. Extremely pleased. I wanted to install the grill this evening, but ...

Re: '65 Coupe Resto-Mod and '68 Full Custom Restoration

I got the gas cap door flange painted last night and it came out nice. Now the bezel fits great and no primer is showing. Can't fault the painter, I thought the bezel would have covered the entire opening as well and he did not have the bezel to look at. In the end, all is well. Still waiting for Co...

Re: '65 Coupe Resto-Mod and '68 Full Custom Restoration

Some things done, but not all as planned. The glass guy had a family emergency and was not able to install the glass. He had to go out of town for several days, but when he gets back, I am on his list. I did get the front signals, the windshield washers, both door handles, both door locks and the pa...

Re: '65 Coupe Resto-Mod and '68 Full Custom Restoration

Vette is home, in the garage and ready to have a lot of parts installed. :Hurray: :hammer: 65 back home.jpg Every part that goes on is more room in the garage and in the house! :agree: The front signal lights go in today, the rear glass is scheduled to go in tomorrow. Plan on installing the rear bu...

Re: '65 Coupe Resto-Mod and '68 Full Custom Restoration

Actually yes. Not too much rebuilding my parts, as most of my parts were not rebuildable, but they sell both new rebuilt components that they build in house. A lot of their specialty parts they designed and build in house as well. They installed their custom tubular upper control arms on both my '68...

Re: '65 Coupe Resto-Mod and '68 Full Custom Restoration

I found a pretty good final roof vent and ordered it today. Once it gets here they can all be painted and installed. Windshield and rear glass is scheduled to be installed on Thursday, provided the new windshield gasket arrives on time. Here are some photos with the emblems installed. 20200428_1121...

Re: '65 Coupe Resto-Mod and '68 Full Custom Restoration

I will. I have never been to the big Carlyle show in PA. I'd kind of like to go at least once. So far, the only other lead I have on the last roof vent I need was painted with some possible corrosion in one spot. The guy sandblasted the paint off to show me there was no pitting, and guess what, ther...

Re: '65 Coupe Resto-Mod and '68 Full Custom Restoration

Went and checked up on the car yesterday. It is progressing and almost ready to come home for me to complete. All the emblems are installed except for the nose flags, tail lights are in and working, door weatherstrips are installed and the front and rear windshields are now ready to go in. One piece...
