Just updated the blog to talk about rust prevention inside the frame rails and the new fuel tank install. Trailing arms are in progress with much help from Gary Ramadei (aka GTR1999 and all around great guy) and just put one of his "Super 10 Bolt" diffs in the works as well. He's been great to work ...

Reviving this old thread because I was going to ask the same thing... where did you get the shims from. But also... Tim you posted the thicknesses, but what was the ID/OD's of the shims? Also, you just put them on the wheel studs as needed under the rotor?

My '65 or my '68 did not come with one :skep: 1st model year for the Pinto was '71, so that makes sense. Did some reading and found that Ford put the plastic shield in place to help prevent puncture with protruding bolts off the differential in the event of the tank being pushed forward in a rear-e...

ah... good to know about its purpose. I guess it could make a puncture less likely? Glad I found a replacement!
