Re: 1972 BB Convertible in Atomic Orange Color

Well, good news. I mocked up the hood Monday night and checked the clearance from the underside of the hood and the top of the carb flange (without an air cleaner in place). I have between 2.75" and 3" of clearance. :Hurray: I should be all set if I use a drop base air cleaner. Phew! :D That is gre...

Re: '65 Coupe Resto-Mod and '68 Full Custom Restoration

Holy cow, that dash looks awesome! I've never seen one finished like that, looks great! Did they just cover over the original steel with fiber or did they actually create a new panel (separate from the old steel one)? Who did it? Very cool! It is my original dash coated with carbon fiber fil...

Re: Lift Off! My 1972 Resto-Mod Begins

A few hundred for both, the stock arm structure. Was able to reuse the internals that Gary fit up. The register just keeps cha-ching'ing away. Actually just put together a spreadsheet to track the costs and forecast where I'll be when done to try to keep it reasonable.......... although 'reasonable'...

Re: 1972 BB Convertible in Atomic Orange Color

I like the stainless piece you added, looks really good. I had a hunch you went with the Torker II but I was curious. The drop base air cleaner is a must. Even with that the options are pretty limited. Vito... your project is very inspirational!! MaineVette, Vito... What are the options fo...

Re: Lift Off! My 1972 Resto-Mod Begins

Trailing arms are back and mocked up on the car. One trailing arm was bent, so ended up having them both replaced to be safe. As a result, have to drill holes for the rear sway bar mounting and going to wait to mark their location until wheels/tires are on the get the whole assembly resting on its o...

Re: Lift Off! My 1972 Resto-Mod Begins

Front suspension recently came together after a bit of a hiatus over the winter. I have to keep plugging away! It's not going to build itself! New blog post at http://1972corvetterestomod.blogspot.com/ if you're interested. I like to keep all the details there to make it easier to follow for family ...
