Mike, looking at the trim tag on my 66 I would say that its original. B22 is a October 22, 1965 build date so your vin will be below 104384. that will be a close guess if goes with your car. who knows what has happened to it in 54 years. The last time that I did kingpins was in 71, so I didn't remember. Looking at parts online, its a small pin with a flat side machined on it and a nut on one end, couldn't tell if it was tapered looking at parts. Remove the nut and then use a brass pin and knock it out. Do this from the nut end. More...

It looks as if the leaf blower is the unfortunate way that I will be going.Paint suit, hood, gloves and the respirator along with earplugs for the noise.I will look like Pigpen from the Peanuts comic strip in a cloud of dust. I hope that I am asking this in the right location. After sanding fiberglass and then sanding the repair patch down how do you guys clean the dust out of your garages? Same goes for the sanding of Slick Sand and Vette panel adhesive. When I am working I use a fan blowing that crap out, or attempting...

Bob, fun isn't it. Don't forget the anti squeak pads between the straps and the tank. All they are is 2" wide strips of roofing paper.
