Re: Cleaning the firewall

Hi Tim, regards from Spain. You are the best "reference" to restore my new 1972. I recognize that you are a teacher in everything you do. I follow all the tutorials because you are as perfectionist as me and that is hard to find. I need your help with an issue. My car probably had an accident in th...

Re: Berrrrr. Thats cold

It's finally starting to. We had a couple really hot days in the 90's but otherwise it's been pretty typical. The evenings have been pretty cool though. All I know is that it's a heck of a lot better than snow!

How are things in Florida? You're probably ready for winter by now aren't you? :D

You should be able to attach photos to your post. Click the "Full Editor" option when you create a reply, scroll down a bit and click the "attachments" tab to add a photo. If it helps I've attached a few photos from my build showing the area I suspect you're referring to. http://corvette-restoration...

Re: razor blade paint removal

Heat gun in combo with the razor blades worked really well. Often could get down to bare fiberglass in some areas... gouging the fiberglass is easy to do though! I was going to say the same thing, using heat would really soften the bonding compound and make it easy to gouge. I never thought to use ...

Re: Project update

almost there! congrats!!! My project keeps getting stalled as well, but back at it lately I've learned that it's an endless battle to try and find time to get out there. It's not like you can just spend an hour here and there tinkering. For me, I need blocks of time - a half day or so - to really d...

Re: camshaft specs for your build

Wow, you're really testing me there... I just looked through my photos and this is what I came up with. I could probably find the cam card in my files but, with our plans to move, everything is packed. :ack: Hopefully you can read this.

Re: Project update

It's been a while so here's a bit of an update - After not touching the Corvette for about 6 months I'm finally going to spend some time in the garage today trying to wrap up a few odds and ends. I need to get the hood remounted so I can work on the hood gap/reveal line between the hood and hood sur...

Re: Removing the front clip

Hey Ken, thanks for checking in. I was wondering if you were still making progress on your car. Similar to Brookster I had just assumed you gave up! Switching jobs and moving will definitely put a damper on your productivity. Glad to hear your back at it and that your making forward progress!

E-bay and craigslist may be a good place to look, or at local car shows and swap meets. Finding something local will definitely help cut down on shipping costs. The other option is to simply order a built crate engine.

Re: Having a lot of trouble aligning fender skirts and radiator

I'm scratching my head as to what would cause of the misalignment. By playing with all of the adjustments you mentioned you should be able to get it aligned properly. I don't know if this is even possible, or if it would even create an issue, but is there any chance you switched the control arms (pu...
