Re: Q jet Bog

The hesitation you are talking about is generally caused by a lean condition, where there is too much air and not enough fuel DURING THE TRANSITION when you step on it. The color of your plugs is indicative of steady state driving. You may have a problem with your accelerator pump or secondaries. It...

Re: Bent lower control arm = suggestions

Was this car ever in an accident? My main questions would be: 1) How did it get bent? 2) Did it work before you took it apart? 3) What else is bent if it worked before (frame, brackets)? If you straighten it and make it correct and the frame of brackets are still bent, it most likely will not go bac...

Re: '65 Coupe Resto-Mod and '68 Full Custom Restoration

Well, today was more sanding and sanding. I now have the roof, rear center, both rear quarter panels and the passenger side of the hood dye coated and sanded. Tomorrow I hope to finish the passenger side door and front fender and start on the drivers side hood and fender. Need to remove the grill an...

Re: Looking for some advice - blowing out fuel lines

When he said he had stainless steel fuel lines, I assumed he had already replaced it, since stainless steel fuel lines were never installed in Corvettes by the factory. But that brings up a good point. If the fuel lines are the old lines and the car had gas sitting in it since 1995, replacing the ru...

Re: Looking for some advice - blowing out fuel lines

Actually, testing for fuel in the carburetor can be done much easier that that. Assuming you have fresh gas, crank the engine for about 5-6 seconds. Remove the air cleaner. While looking down into the carburetor, pump the throttle a few times. If you see fuel squirting into the carburetor venturies ...

Re: '65 Coupe Resto-Mod and '68 Full Custom Restoration

Back to sanding ... sanding ... sanding ... ... ... ... Will be taking the drivers door off this week to finish the door jamb, paint the jamb and installing the weatherstrip. Needed to fit the door to the car before that, and now that is about finished. Once the door is back on, back to s...

Re: '65 Coupe Resto-Mod and '68 Full Custom Restoration

I made some tuning adjustments to the fuel injection today and took it out for a long drive, some in town, some 45 mph roads and lots of 65 mph roads. The adjustment I made to have the RPMs drop to idle speed faster when I let off the gas worked a little, but still needs to drop a little quicker. Al...

Re: '65 Coupe Resto-Mod and '68 Full Custom Restoration

Here is an update on the Fuel Injection changeover. It ran great on initial startup and it's first short trial run. The next day I fired it up and took it for a longer ride to start the self learning process. The more you drive it, the more it learns about how the engine responds to changing conditi...
