Re: '65 Coupe Resto-Mod and '68 Full Custom Restoration
This time, the 480 mile trip to Charleston went very smooth, except for 1 glitch, that wasn't that bad, well 2 glitches, neither that bad. I left for Charleston at 4:00 AM on Saturday. The truck was really working to pull the trailer, as most of the trip to Charleston was up hill. Could not use over...

Re: '65 Coupe Resto-Mod and '68 Full Custom Restoration
Getting ready for taking the '65 to Jamison's Corvette in Charleston. I needed to replace the rear tires on the truck, only 7,000 miles but the sidewalls were totally dry rotted!. Sidewall cracking didn't worry me that much because they were 10 ply tires, but the deep crack completely around t...

Be assured, I won't be restoring any more cars! If I want one, I'll buy it finished!

It won't be long now... That write-up for windshield installation will be helpful for me. Putting the windshield in my 71 is on my short-list of things to tackle. There's nobody around here that I'd trust to put the windshield in either so mine will be a DIY job. Your windshield is light years easi...

Re: 71 Sees Daylight After 21 Years!
I ripped it all out and installed the Borgeson power steering box. LOVE IT. Dropped right in, no leaking rams and a much more rapid steering response. Go with the universal joint instead of the rag joint. Far safer.

Re: '65 Coupe Resto-Mod and '68 Full Custom Restoration
The front and rear windows are still not installed in my '65.   I have decided to give up on all the window glass assholes around here. Either they do not show up for appointments, do not return calls or do not give me the impression that they know a flying f...art about what they ar...

Re: 71 Sees Daylight After 21 Years!
The builder used thick gaskets to get the needed clearance on the valve covers. Eventually, I will get taller covers - something nice to replace the "boring" stock covers. :ack: I did that originally on my 350. Worked OK but I always carried a spare set of thick valve cover gaskets IN THE CAR. If y...

Re: 71 Sees Daylight After 21 Years!
Nice engine!! Are you sure the stock valve covers will fit over the roller rockers? Mine did not. I needed to buy tall valve covers.
I need to do that to my '65 crossmember in the near future. Mine has a rust issue with one repair weld already there.

Re: '65 Coupe Resto-Mod and '68 Full Custom Restoration
Just got back from Pennsylvania deer hunting on my brothers property (80+ acres in the PA mountains). Filled both doe tags and 1 buck tag. First year ever hunting during archery season. New crossbow worked just fine. Back to solid rain here in Florida. 20201107_103846.jpg Now it's time to get back t...
