Re: '65 Coupe Resto-Mod and '68 Full Custom Restoration

New power window motor came Friday, just 2 days! :Hurray: Body shop said not to worry about aligning the headlights, as they were removing them anyway, so that is off my list. Tail lights go in today along with the license plate. Then the car is drivable again. With nice weather in the foreseeable f...

Re: '65 Coupe Resto-Mod and '68 Full Custom Restoration

Great News! I found the place I bought the power window conversion kit from, it was a place called AutoCity on eBay and it came with a lifetime warranty. I found the original paperwork with the order number and most important, their phone number documented in my computer. Seems I bought it in Octobe...

Re: '65 Coupe Resto-Mod and '68 Full Custom Restoration

Weather is getting pretty nice during the day now, so it's back to moving the car outside and getting back to work. Yesterday's project of the day was to remove the passenger and driver's side window glass. Went to raise the glass on the driver's side so I could remove the two nuts holding it...

Re: '65 Coupe Resto-Mod and '68 Full Custom Restoration

I started the '65 and let it run for about a half an hour just outside the garage to charge the battery and to just run it, and when I touched the hood, it was reallllly freakin HOT. I raised the hood and found the engine compartment was so hot I could not touch almost anything, including the altern...

Confused

"Who is On-Line" is very confusing. Many times it lists several "guests" with most of them posting things or replying to posts in various categories. None of these posts ever show up and I did not think guests could post things. Confusing.

Re: '65 Coupe Resto-Mod and '68 Full Custom Restoration

I stopped in at Stingray Auto Body yesterday after work to see how things were going and to get some answers on things I am doing. He has made a lot of progress on his work list, the current hot car in his shop is a C1 Corvette full restoration and a red Charger for Dream Car Giveaway having a new v...

Re: '65 Coupe Resto-Mod and '68 Full Custom Restoration

:D Hope you have a nice strong wall onto which you bang your head... :D Yes, heavily reinforced! :D :D I decided to just turn in the plates for the '68, even if they didn't issue a letter for it. Getting a new plate is easy and I don't need to worry about it. So now, I have the '65 and the '01 regi...

Re: '65 Coupe Resto-Mod and '68 Full Custom Restoration

Just had an interesting run-in with Florida DMV!! I received a letter saying if I did not put insurance back on my 65 Corvette, I would lose my driver's license. :ack: After looking into it, when I dropped the insurance coverage with Classic Collectables on both the 65 and the 68 and re-insured them...

Re: '65 Coupe Resto-Mod and '68 Full Custom Restoration

Well, enough of my 1995 and 2001 Corvettes, and the hurricane as well. Back to my 1965 vette. Made the final decision on the painter about 2 weeks ago. I was able to put enough money away to cover the extra costs included in Ace's Auto Body's estimate. About 3 weeks ago I called them 3 times ...
