Re: '65 Coupe Resto-Mod and '68 Full Custom Restoration

After installing the lifters and rocker arms in cylinder #1, we installed a variable length pushrod to determine the correct push rod length I needed. After knowing the required length, the pushrods were ordered and should be here today. I was also happy to see the roller rockers and posi-locks I bo...

Re: '65 Coupe Resto-Mod and '68 Full Custom Restoration

We made a lot of progress over the past few weeks on the '68's engine. The parts all came back from the balancing shop a while back and we finally built the short block. Unlike the fuel injected hp 350 I built and is in the '65, I don't expect this engine to see over 4500 rpm, as the '68 is more of ...

Re: 1966 Dashpad restoration creates questions

Here are photos of my '65 restoration. My interior was black and you can see from my photos that the color of the dash is tan or brown and painted black. Not sure what they painted the dashes with, but this is how mine was found to be after I removed the original dash pads. 65 corvette original dash...

Re: '65 Coupe Resto-Mod and '68 Full Custom Restoration

I talked to the upholstery shop that I want to fit my carpets regarding installing the rear carpets before I re-installed the rear window, as I thought it would provide better access for them through the window opening, and installing the front carpets after the car is painted. They said they do not...

Re: '65 Coupe Resto-Mod and '68 Full Custom Restoration

Although the weather here has been really nice so far this year, the sun has not been that hot. Every time I get a really clear sunny day, I put the '65 in the driveway and let it bake. The hood and top have actually made it to over 155 degrees, but the sides don't seem to get over 120, and that is ...

Re: '65 Coupe Resto-Mod and '68 Full Custom Restoration

I got my vent window hinge bracket part!!! I spent the day at the Winter Carlyle car show and swap meet looking for the vent window hinge piece I need. I was ready to pay up to $100 for the part or up to $400 for the assembly in any condition and just take the part off the assembly and insta...

Re: '65 Coupe Resto-Mod and '68 Full Custom Restoration

Any luck finding the replacement part for your window? Any chance you can fabricate one or go to a local fab shop and have it done for you? No luck as of yet unless I buy the whole used window frame for $499.00. Not that desperate yet. Tomorrow starts the NCRS / Corvettes at Carlyle Winter Meet car...

Re: '65 Coupe Resto-Mod and '68 Full Custom Restoration

Now I can actually fit another car in the garage  Well, speaking about fitting another car in the garage, we really can't, but we just made the decision to get ANOTHER Corvette. A friend of ours in our Corvette Club is getting up in age and he and his wife are getting a bit on the f...
