Heat gun in combo with the razor blades worked really well. Often could get down to bare fiberglass in some areas... gouging the fiberglass is easy to do though!

I see the listed specs for your camshaft in your project updates, but do you have a pic of the cam card you can post? Want to compare it to ideas I have. If not, do you know the Intake Valve Closing Point ABDC in deg?

Thanks for the feedback gents! Still knee deep in removing everything from the body, but once it is done I can't wait to see what lays under the paint on the exterior in these areas.

Finished some more body disassembly the last couple days in the nose... headlights, front bumper and brackets, etc. The maze of vac hoses served as more motivation to convert the system to electric along with the wipers. http://i760.photobucket.com/albums/xx250/mndshp/before%20disassembly_zpsfyxfr3m...

It is quite the engineering marvel, but probably way too complex to be reliable in the long-term. I've had a heck of a time getting mine to operate smoothly, it seems to bind up a bit.
